Show and Tell Tale

Max had show and tell today. Short /u/. What starts with the short /u/ sound? We could only come up with umpire, umbrella and underwear. We didn't have anything pertaining to umpire, his umbrella is broken, and underwear was what he wanted to 'show and tell' the class. Since that wasn't in any way appropriate, he went to bed without having anything for show and tell. I promised him that his daddy and I would come up with something great before morning. We couldn't come up with anything...then, when I let the dogs in from outside, there it was - a slug. Okay, I know that 'slug' doesn't start with /u/, but it would have to do because we were desperate. We scooped a couple of them up into a jar, added a little water, grass, mulch and dog food (for snacking), and viola - show and tell. Max was thrilled when he got up and saw the slime covered jar that held his 'ugly slugs'. I hope his teacher doesn't hate me.(:
